They kill her as a fetus.
They abuse her as a child.
They rape her as a girl,
And burn her alive.
“No woman, No life.”
“No woman, No life.”
“Women are equals!”-
The feminists cry.
Her giggle is awkward,
Her dancing is trampy,
Her principles are void n’,
Speaking up is frowned upon.
Karate is too manly,
Swimming is skimpy,
Partying is bad n’,
Sports are for boys.
They nip her nerve in bud
N’ crush her dreams in murk,
N’ get her married to some guy
When she’s not old enough to drive.
She can’t wear what she likes.
She can’t eat when she craves.
She must be docile and submit her life.
She cooks; she serves, day-in, day-out.
She loves; she gives, until the end of time.
She struggles; she cries, there are reasons for all.
They ridicule her wishes n’ call her a burden.
They deem her alien and demand a baby boy.
They kill her as a fetus, if He bestows otherwise...
“Know woman, know life.”
“Women are equals!”-
The feminists cry.

Super Souji.... chala bavundi..
Good one. Very true. Well written.
I couldn't stop writing back. The unfortunate thing is even women who goes through these struggles as a child/daughter in law or has witnessed these happening to their loved ones, they unfortunately forget or ignore this when they stand on the other side of the shore in the shoes of a mother in law, or as the mother of a son.
We can't put an end to this struggle until and unless every women stands and takes accountability of every tragedy they witness as if it were to happen to them and Don't ignore even at the cost of surrendering the criminal (let be their son or husband) to law enforcement / justice.
Every Women has to stand for other women and be impartial towards their loved one, that's when there would be an end to all the rapes and other tortures that happen to women either in the name of rituals or even mere pleasure. we have to protect one another before we expect from other gender.
Well said Haritha..
Nice work. Do let me know when you write more
